Katy/Fulshear, TX -- April 9, 2009. . . The “Firethorne Stampede” auction team “corralled” the Grand Champion Pig and Grand Champion Goat, and several other award-winning animals at the Katy Independent School District (I.S.D.) Livestock Show Auction. The Firethorne team purchased six animals in total, including the Reserve Champion Goat and fifth place goat, and sixth and eighth place rabbits, among others, to support the Katy I.S.D. Future Farmers of America (FFA.)

“The Katy I.S.D. Livestock Show & Rodeo is always a highlight of the year and this year we especially were thrilled to be able to purchase the eighth place winning rabbit raised by one of our own Firethorne Guide employees, Shelby Jasso, who is a junior at James Taylor High School,” said Firethorne Stampede’s Wayne Meyer. “Shelby has worked at Firethorne after school and summers for two years,” said Meyer, general manager of the 1,400-acre Firethorne master-designed community in Katy/Fulshear.
